About Oriental Bay Wellington

Oriental Bay is an inner city suburb of Wellington situated against the northern slope of Mount Victoria. The suburb has a beach of the same name which is the closest beach from the centre of the city making it a popular place for both locals and visitors. The Oriental Bay Walkway is a popular coastal walk or cycle that goes around to Evans Bay toward the airport.

Oriental Bay comes alive+ in Summer because of the beach and across from the beach are many fine cafes, restaurants, and bars. One icon of this suburb is Freyburg pool which now includes a gym. Next to the pool is a smaller sandy cove separated from the main beach. Behind this cove is a childrens playground and the Tug Boat restaurant is close by.

Oriental bay is a highly sought after place to live not only Wellington, but New Zealand. The suburb has one of the country's highest average selling prices for real estate.
