About Uninhabited Islands

The Kingdom of Tonga has 171 islands with only 36 being inhabited.

Most of the uninhabited islands are smaller coral cays that are unable to sustain a permanent population. Other coral cays have no towns or villages, but do have resorts for tourists. For example, both Fafa and Pangaimotu are both uninhabited except for a resort on each island.
