About Atata Island

Atata is an island of Tonga and part of the Tongatapu group. It is ten kilometers from Tonga's capital, Nuku'alofa. The island has an area of approximately 100 acres.

There is a resort at one end of the island and a fishing village in the centre, and some plantations at the other end of the island.

There is one main beach that wraps around a peninsula. The beach starts at the end of Atata town and extends to the resort and around the other side of the peninsula to Atata town's other coast.

The coast around the plantations area has no beach.
