New Zealand lies in the
South Pacific Ocean. The Tasman Sea lies to the west and separates New Zealand
and Australia. The Great Southern Ocean lies to the south with the nearest landmass
being the Antartica, so a southerly wind brings colder temperatures
to New Zealand.
