Thermal Stream in Taupo

This hidden thermal stream in the Taupo area feeds into the Waikato River. As you walk upstream, the water gets warmer. There are many pools and a number of small waterfalls onroute. The stream can be acessed by boat and once you disembark, you need to squeeze through a very narrow gorge. You can also gain access to the upper part of the stream from a nearby dirt road followed by a walk through a forest. It is not sign posted, so you need to know the exact location.
