About Common Eggfly
The Common Eggfly, is a butterfly found in forests and areas of thick scrub. The male and female look markedly different. The male has black wings on the upperside with three pairs of white dots surrounded by iridescent purple and brown on the underside of the wing with additional white markings on the edge. The female has a brownish black on the upper side of the wing with no dots and a similar colour on the underside with the same white markings on the edge as the male.
