Tussock
Grass carpets these hills in the Lindis Pass. This area of New Zealand experiences
extremes in climate from hot dry summers to snow and hoar frost in winter.
Tussock vegetation is well suited to this harsh environment and provides
a dramatic change in scenery from the nearby westcoast rainforests.
