Eucalyptic trees are the most common species of tree in Australia, there are over 700 species in total. These trees can be found in all the climatic zones, which include tropical, temperate, desert, and alpine areas. The Eucalypt is commonly known as a Gum Tree.
On very hot days the eucalypt oil starts to evaporate
and causes a blue haze when viewed from a distance. The vapour is actually
flammable and is one of the reasons Australia is prone to bush fires.
