Shipwreck of the S.S. Maheno, Fraser Island.
The ship was built built for comfort and
speed in Scotland 1904 then used as a hospital ship in World War I. At
2 pm, 8th of July 1935, the S.S Maheno was caught in an unseasonal winter
cyclone and was grounded on Fraser Island on the 9th of July 1935. The
Royal Australian Air Force use the Maheno as target practice in World War
II.
